Description
I’m selling my 2007 Ford Escape XLT AWD. I’ve owned and maintained this vehicle with a strong focus on preventative care, top‑quality oils and fluids, and reputable parts. I recently purchased a new Corolla and no longer have the time to continue diagnosing the remaining issues on this vehicle, which is why I’m selling it as‑is. The vehicle starts, runs, and drives, but it does have known issues that are fully disclosed below. ✅ Recent Maintenance & Upgrades • New alternator • High‑quality battery (recently tested by AutoZone, good condition) • Brand new NGK Iridium spark plugs • Most ignition coils replaced with NGK coils • Fuel pump recently replaced ◦ Original fuel pump assembly included if buyer wishes to swap back • Fuel filter just replaced • Fuel pressure sensor replaced • Idle Air Control Valve (IAC) replaced • EGR valve replaced • PCV valve replaced • Mass Air Flow (MAF) / airflow sensor recently cleaned • Air intake gaskets replaced • Most vacuum lines replaced • Entire wiring harness replaced (junkyard harness) ◦ Installed years ago to resolve a cylinder 5 misfire • Exhaust system recently serviced, with much of it replaced • Struts and most lower suspension components are relatively new • High‑quality brake pads with coated rotors • Tires are fairly new • Air conditioning serviced about 2 years ago • All fluids replaced religiously using top‑quality oils and fluids: ◦ Engine oil ◦ Transmission ◦ Transfer case ◦ Differential ◦ Power steering ◦ Brake fluid • Regular fuel system treatments throughout ownership 🛠️ Known Issues (Full Disclosure) • Intermittent check engine light for a cylinder 3 misfire ◦ Causes a rough idle ◦ I have not had time to diagnose further • Shudder around 40 mph ◦ This appears to be fuel or air related, not drivetrain ◦ Not yet diagnosed • Fuel gauge not working ◦ Fuel pump float popped off and is currently inside the gas tank • Parking brake does not work • Needs a new driveshaft bearing due to noise. It was serviced but the replacement bearing has always made noise since. ◦ Parking brake and driveshaft bearing can be repaired for free at J&S Auto under warranty if the buyer chooses to take it there • Small oil leak ◦ All engine oil seals replaced except the main seal and timing chain cover seal ◦ Only a few drops per drive; does not affect oil pressure • Sunroof leaks during very heavy rain • No radio head unit or speakers installed • Rear suspension clunk ◦ From a broken rubber buffer stuck inside the rear coil spring ◦ Easily removable with spring compressors • Noticeable frame rust ◦ Frame has been treated every year with rust treatment to slow progression 🧾 Additional Notes • Starts reliably and drives at city and highway speeds • AWD makes this a solid winter vehicle • I cared deeply about routine maintenance during my ownership • This vehicle has received significantly more mechanical attention than most vehicles of this age • Selling because I no longer have time to continue diagnosis 💲 Price: $1,900 Priced to reflect the known issues while accounting for extensive maintenance, AWD, clean title, and quality parts. Please inspect and ask as many questions as you want. I’m happy to go over everything and encourage a pre‑purchase inspection.
