Description
1993 Saab 900 S Convertible
- Automatic
- 16 valve 2.1L
- Front wheel drive
-ANTI-LOCK light is on (happens in most Saabs in general, money pit to look into,, probably a shot sensor, or plastic component somewhere)

This is a TURNKEY vehicle, ~95k miles. Please don’t waste time if not serious.

Fun car and gets a lot of looks, really enjoyed driving and working on it but moving to NYC next year and figured I would put it on the market now,, message me through the browser app, but make sure to check back for a reply! If there’s a car that I’ll look back on when I’m older it’ll probably be this one,, would love for this car to go to a classic car guy, saab enthusiast, anybody who can truly appreciate the vehicle!

A little history if not familiar with saab/this model - the last year of production for the classic 900 was 1994,,, announced ‘93 would be the last year but then only produced convertible in ‘94 due to demand (‘79 was the first year of the 900, ‘86 first year of convertible),,, GM bought 50% of saab in 1989 and the remaining 50% in 2000,, the 79-94 years are referred to as “Classic” 900, c900, after ‘94 they shifted to “New Gen”, NG900, with domed hoods,, they basically went bankrupt for trying to make cars too nice and GM bought and eventually killed them. All 900s were assembled with a high degree of manual craftsmanship,, trim and panels hand fitted,, interesting enough all convertible models (1986–1994) were finished at Valmet in Finland,, thr bodies were made and semi assembled in Trollhattan, Sweden and then shipped to Finland for convertible components and final assembly,,, Saab is a Swedish airplane manufacturer and this car was made with the driver and jets in mind, you can see this in the curved windshield giving the driver more visibility and a cockpit feel, the ignition is in the center console as to not hurt the drivers knees in the event of a crash, the button orientation and layout of the dash are made for ease of access and driver experience, the green cockpit esque lights in the glove box and ashtray box in dash

- Check out this video displaying this cars trim, worth $30k in 1991 which is ~$71k now to put in perspective of what this car was during its time,, I’ve thought of the lifespan of Toyota and Saabs to rival each other - saab offered 80k mile warranty during this time

About car:
- New AC, convertible top, tires, SONY sound system (bluetooth, aux, charging capability) – installed by previous owner
- New engine (~90k miles) installed by previous owner - although odometer is broken at 167k, this engine has less than 100k miles, my previous saab made it to over 200k and this one has definitely been well taken care of if you keep reading
- electric seats, radio, headlights, brake lights, all 4 windows, convertible top, corner lights, fog lights, wipers, turn signals, hazards, hood latch and more are in perfect working condition, the lock button on center console doesn’t work, have to lock by hand,,,the dash light doesn’t work, there’s a magnetic dash light in place that’s rechargeable,, the trunk light doesn’t work I just put a light back there, not sure what it is,, not bulb and long wire to trace and no easy access to grounds,, hopefully this isn’t scanned by a state trooper but the passenger side seat belt receiver would not pass inspection, but macgyverd to work,, could probably get one off eBay for $100 if not I have guy that will sell for $125,, no battery tie down source which wouldn’t pass inspection,, don’t really need I use a bungee cord ,, needs PCV valve to pass emissions inspection (I have this part) - this car is registered as an antique so it does not need to pass state or emissions inspection,, cruise control might or might not work haven’t tried it same with heated seats,, electric mirror adjuster knobs don’t work,, AC is great, serviced under previous ownership,, there’s actually CarPlay for phone calls and a mic near sun visor that works quite nicely with the top down,, comes with wind deflector,, I’ve added cup holders but can easily be removed,, something all saab versions have kind of lacked,, will add video of convertible top, AC, start up, lights if possible later
- New inner driver, CV axles joints, and oil change done by IM Autohaus Falls Church, VA – Saab Official Service Center
- Included Accessories – Dash cover, tonneau/boot cover, wind deflector, spare tire, 4 original rims, hatchback rain cover, floor mats, scissor jack, 2 repair manuals, Saab emblems, battery tender, passenger side inner driver, pcv valve, steering column bushing,,,, since moving we can talk about including tools if you want such as jack stands, hydraulic jack , torque wrench, breaker bar, pressure bleeder etc.
- Brakes: new left front, left rear, right rear brake calipers and fresh brake fluid,, all fluids topped off,,, a lot of cosmetic work has been done as well,,, sanded and painted the windshield wipers, headlight wipers, windshield cowl, and mirror housing,, new mirrors, new seat belt release buttons, conditioned leather seats,, for refurbing the seats you could spend some money on LSeat covers and DIY it or have Im AutoHaus do or buy a driver side seat off someone through a facebook group or leave as is and show the 33 yrs of character,, refurb bumpers/trim, etc. check out on IG:
